Lost Desktop

On Friday evening I loaded Norton Anti Virus 2003, shut
down my pc and then rebooted, but I am now unable to see
my desktop and the only way I can work is by using the
run command on the task bar, I have reviewed various
other boards that have noted a similar problem, can
anyone please recommend a fix ??

Line 195 (right column) "Restore Desktop Icons and Taskbar"

Install the fix, then reboot your computer.
