I am running Windows XP Home Edition upgrade (from Windows
98). It seems to run OK, albeit somewhat slowly, most of
the time. But, at various (random?) times a program will
stop responding. This is most noticable when running
Outlook Express, and trying to open a web page from a link
in a message. This is usually cured by hitting CTRL-ALT-
DELETE, but not always - the Task Manager window will show
the message as "Not Responding".

I use Disk Cleanup and NAV scan every week. And I defrag
the hard drive every 3 months.

The only references to this in the knowledge base offer no
real cure. Any other ideas?

Thx.

Try System Mechanic. www.iolo.com It's free for 30 days. Do a complete
cleanup of your Registry and files.
You probably have some old Win98 files lurking in the background.
