No, this has nothing to do with what version of Windows you buy.
It has to do only with whether you have PowerPoint installed. If
you think PowerPoint comes with Windows, sorry to say that you're
mistaken. You can buy PowerPoint either by itself, or as part of
Microsoft Office.

You omitted needed detail. What version of what should you buy? Powerpoint;
XP; or what?

If you're talking about working a powerpoint project resident on your work
machine from a home machine, you'll need your work machine to run XP Pro and
your home machine can run 98SE, ME, or any version of XP. You'll also need
your network administrator to setup the permissions to access your work
machine via the internet.
