This is a follow-up to the message that I posted on
8/13. When trying to start Windows, I could not get my
system to get past the screen where you choose "Safe
Mode", "Last Known Configuration that worked", etc. I
used another computer to download and create the setup
boot floppys for XP Home Edition, and inserted the 1st
disk in. Still no result. I inserted my XP Home Edition
CD (which I tried before, and it didn't work), and
rebooted the system. Now, I get as far as the black
opening screen, then the blue "Windows is starting"
screen, before I get a blue screen telling me that I have
a "REGISTRY_ERROR". It then showed the following
sequence:
STOP: 0X00000051 (0XOOOOOOO40, OXOOOOOOO1, OXE198B48,
0X00057490). Then the reboot process starts all over
again. I'm still stuck. Any ideas?
