Did you contact the OEM? They may have a replacement plan too.

I know it doesn't help you, but with the ridiculous speeds of a lot of
today's CD drives, you really need to check your disks from time to time
for cracks and warps. The high speed can cause a small crack to grow and
the disk to explode, once an edge catches on something. You also have to
take care not to use asymmetrical labels on your disks because these
cause vibrations that can damage the drive or cause the disk to crack.
Even a small stick-on label is enough to cause excessive vibration.

I've tried to salvage drives with exploded disks and haven't been
successful. Too many small pieces, too violent an explosion. :-( I wish
someone would sell a CD-ROM with a mechanical speed limit switch on it.
That way the vendor could still sell it as 1456x speed, but I could slow
it down to a reasonable 8x or 12x and avoid exploding disks.
