>>My files and graphics, etc. are saved to CD-RW disks...>> <<Good.
As sqr and Harry point out, if the CD's were written with packet writing
software (Direct CD or InCD) then you'll need to install the XP
compatible version of that software first in order to properly read the
disks.<<

How do I install a windows XP version? I checked, and my other computer
used Adaptec Direct CD Wizard (came with the computer). I found
instructions to close out a CD-R disk, but not the CD-RW, which is what I
used... Thanks again for your help! :-)

If you're saying you don't have a version of Easy CD Creator you can install
on your system, then you need to purchase it. Version 6 is now available.

If you have version 5, platinum or basic, it can be installed on XP but you
need an update from the Roxio web site, www.roxio.com for it to function
properly. During installation of version 5 you will get an error message
with regard to Direct CD, just continue the installation. Do a custom
install and deselect Take 2 as that part of Easy CD creator is not
compatible with XP.

Bottom line, if you don't have it, you need to get it to open those disks.
Packet writing is not the same as mastering, you can close a CD-R disk
making it readable on any machine, that is not the case for packet written
disks, they require Direct CD.

There used to be a reader available at the Roxio site but my last experience
with it on XP was not good so I don't advise using it to read your disks.
