View Full Version : Cannot see video or hear sound in Capture mode

I've read through a number of posts and my problem is slightly different. I
have 2 Sony Camcorders, ATI AIW Radeon 8500 DV video card, Windows XP Pro SP2
and 3 capture software programs (Ulead VideoStudio, Sonic MyDVD and Arsoft
DVD2). My problem is as stated in the subject, but the software programs do
control the cameras. When I try to capture video after the computer has been
on for a while, I don't get picture or sound in the capture mode of any of
the programs. As it is the same for all software programs, I have to assume
it is XP.

When I reboot the computer, sometimes, I will then get video and sound in
the capture mode, but if I leave it and go to something else and come back,
the video and sound are no longer there. I have to reboot again and that
dosen't always work. This has started since I installed SP2 and the updates.

I've run 'scandisc' and I downloaded and installed the XPCodecPack. Neither
made any difference.

I would appreciate any help anyone can provide.

Thanks

Have you checked for video card driver updates?
