Messenger and Alert messages, every day there are more and
One popped up as I was typing, here is it: I need help
in getting rid of them permanently.

Turn on your firewall before you get a virus or worm in addition to the
pop-ups.

Right click on your My computer icon, click on manage, go
to the options for services, once it's open look for the
service called messenger, highlight it ,right click, chose
properties and disable the service, this should solve your
problem

That will only stop the popups from displaying.

The real problem is the firewall is not enabled which is allowing the
popups, viruses, worms, and other unwanted traffic into the computer.
