VirusScan Lock Up

[Innisbrook]

Tried running McAfee Virus Scan three times but scan
locked up on same file each time. Note: cleared Temporary
Internet Folders before running Virus Scan, as recommended
by McAfee after first attempt lock up - no improvement.

"Problem" file is:
C:\ProgramFiles\CommonFiles\MicrosoftShared\Proof\ MSTH3FR
(2).DLL
What does this file do? Do I need it? Why would it be
causing a lock up?

Try here http://www.microsoft.com/office/ork/xp/journ/Oxpsp2a.htm If
you havent downloaded and installed
OfficeXP SP2 then do so. Msth3fr.dll is one of the files that is
updated. If you don't have OfficeXP then of course
disregard this info.
