View Full Version : Is there a FULL download of the SP1 for XP somewhere?

I have a broadband connection. My neighbor does not.
They have XP and need to update their version of XP.
With SP1 and all the recent Critical Updates that are
available, it's almost impossible for them to download
the necessary files in a timely fashion.

I would like to download the files as single executables,
via my broadband connection, burn them to a CD and give
them to them. But where do I find the files as full size
EXEs, rather than starter files?

Any insight will be appreciated.

Thanks,

Andy Sharkey

Here, if you can get it:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?
FamilyID=83e4e879-fa3a-48bf-ade5-
023443e29d78&DisplayLang=en
I have been unable to get it because of network problems.

Andy;
You can order Service Pack 1a CD from:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/downloads/servicepacks/sp1/ordercd.asp
http://www.microsoft.com/uk/windowsxp/servicepacks/sp1.asp
Or:
Download the Network Installation from here: (be sure to select the
correct language)
Also select "Windows XP Professional and Home Edition" Do NOT select
64 bit.
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/downloads/servicepacks/sp1/
DSL takes about 20 minutes, if you do not have high speed access, get
a friend to D/L SP1a for you.
Then burn it to a CD and keep for the future.
