i think i may have really messed up my messenger. repeatedly tried to
install messenger live but was told something was missing, (.dstl?? or
something similar looking), resigned self to fact that would have to stick
with old version and was advised to restore system to before downloaded it
which i did but i am now not even able to use version 7.5, message saying
application configuration is incorrect. any help would be immensely
appreciated. thank you!

the message actually reads WINHTTP.DLL not found. again, if anyone has any
advice it would be very much appreciated

hi
what u might have to do is go to start - settings - control panel -
add/remove programs and uninstall all windows live or msn messenger files.
once u have done that u might have to restart your computer. when that has
been completed click on this link
http://g.msn.com/8reen_us/EN_NOUS/INSTALL_MSN_MESSENGER_DL.EXE and it should
automatically download windows live messeger. once it has downloaded it,
install it and hooray hopefully that should solve it
