The first time I open the start menu after each boot, the
PC displays the warning that "Some Items Cannot be Shown,
not enough room to display all items." This warning
obscures the turn off computer buttons and is itself in
error.
My start menu has 16 items pinned to it, and also
displays about another 6 recently used applications.
There is plenty of room for additional entries. For the
sake of it, I recently consolidated All Program entries
so that this choice brings up a single column of
application categories. Still, this error arises.
This error did NOT occur for roughly the first year XP
was on this system. I don't know what preceeded its
appearance, but it appears reliably the first time the
start menu is consulted after each boot.
