Desktop custom theme reverts to default

I had to perform system restore and since then my custom theme has to be
manually reinstated a couple of minutes after start up. Windows saves my
settings and displays my custom theme at start up but after a couple of
minutes, it reverts to the default theme. Any suggestions?
