XP home - wireless 802.11b D-link router/adapters....which worked, and
still do with other systems....

attempted to upgrade to sp2 - everything was working( IE, OE, and various IM
services ) before the upgrade,
after upgrade IE would not see the internet, Netscape would not see the
internet, AOL explorer WOULD see the internet,
Outlook Expres would not connect where before it would, and none of the IM
services would connect.....

I rolled back to sp1 - curently IE will now see the internet, but OE will
not connect to anything, neither will any of the IM services....

I am thinking there is something off the wall in one of the IP settings, but
all looks normal.

Any thoughts where to look???

SP2 has the firewall turned on by default. For troubleshooting try turning
the firewall off temporarily. If you have another firewall installed then
you may have two firewalls running which is bound to cause problems. When
upgrading to SP2 it is best to uninstall any firewalls, antvirus, or
antispayware programs. You can reinstall them after SP2 is installed.
