My computer is setting restore points but I am having trouble using them. I
can select a restore point, with date and time, click the next button to
begin the restore process but nothing happens. When I later look at today's
date it is showing restore operation with time asnd date but nothing has been
restored. Any ideas?

I don't know a lot about this, but being a top notched novice at best,
I don't think it really restores everything, i think it just restore
like the registry and ini files, thing like that. I don't think it
actually takes an image of the hard drive and saves it, i would like to
know more about how restore actually works also, I hope more people
post..

Hi Chris,

Let me see if I understand this correctly.
You choose a date and time from the System Restore calendar to restore
to, then click next.

Nothing happens. Are there any error messages? Does the system reboot
and display the "Restoration Complete" window as shown on this page?

But you do see "Restore Operation" for that day as shown on the same web
page I posted, second image?

Hi Don,

No, System Restore does not restore everything as an image created with
imaging software would.

For a better understanding of System Restore, take a look at the
following page(s).
Here is a description of System Restore:
