View Full Version : Hidden accounts, Admin limitation

August 13th 06, 02:00 PM
Hi all,

On my friend's computer, i can login as Administrator. But then,
the prolems begin : i know perfectly well there is another account,
my friend's workings account, but when i click on "user accounts"
in the control panel, i see only the "Master" account.

So, the other account seems like hidden from the admin !

Now, when i go to the LUSRMNG.MSC, and click on USER in the
left panel, i see 4 users (but none of them seems the account
i'm searching), 2 are disables :

- Guest is marked with a red cross,
- master i'm logged in, belonging to "administrator"
- "help" account, for remote helping belonging to no group
- M$ support, from group service and technical support

No one of them is the account i want to see, which exist
in the documents and setting.

Now, when i check the groups, i see that administrator group
has the "master", but below there is another icon head with a
questionmark and a 20-30 digits number

Now, when i right-click on "my computer", and go to the user
profiles, i see still the master account, with 6MB size, and
below a "unknown" account, 3,5GB large !

what is that account, why is it unknown -for admin- ?

foremost, admin has other limitation of privilege, for example,
in the administration tool (control panel), local security, i
can't set the password policy because the things are
locked...

i never read something about that, could anyone explain
what's happen ?
Why my friend's account doesn't clerly appears,
why admin can't do anything he wants ?

Thanks,

laurent h
