Device already in use

I have just purchased a Sony HDR-HC3 handy cam. I have just tried to connect
and capture a tape to windows Movie Maker with no luck. When I connect the
cam through firewire I hear the sound of it making a connection but after I
try to capturefrom video device I receive an error message saying that :"the
Video device is currently in use.Close any other application that is using
the device and try again"

I deperately need to fix ASAP as I am leaving UK in a few days

I am using a Toshiba Qosmio G10
Windows XP Media

Do you have the camcorder set for playback?
