I have a lab situation. I want to set up the lab printer on a computer so
that all users that log onto the computer can print to it. I can create a
local port ip printer but that defeats the purpose of a network print server.
I dont have enough bandwidth to accomodate roaming profiles. I tried to
paste the network printer shortcut into the All Users desktop folder but that
didnt work. Any suggestions?

you could create a restricted local account, check dont allow user to
change own password then let users log into it locally rather than into
the domain.

I don't really understand your question. Is the printer connected to the
network via ethernet? If so, are you asking how to install the network
printer on the local machine? I don't see what this has to do with roaming
profiles.

Go to the Printers/Fax applet in Control Panel. Add New printer, choose
Local Printer, New Port, TCP/IP - this will start the TCP/IP wizard. Put in
the IP address of the network printer and follow the wizard.

If this isn't what you wanted, then please post back with a better
description of your setup and what you are trying to do.
