Communication Port

I am getting the message, "The device driver for 'Communications Port (COM1)'
device is preventing the machine from entering standby." I don't know where
this comes from and can't seem to locate any device using COM1. Help in
resolving this would be appreciated.

You don't have anything on COM1 ? like an UPS or something ?

I used to have a UPS attached with a USB cable. I don't know what port it
was to. I have moved the UPS to another computer. Would it help to
uninstall the UPS software?

Yes, uninstall the UPS software if you are no longer using it.
