Shared use of WinXP Home ed PC

Friends have just moved from old slow Win 98 PC to new fast WinXP Home
Edition PC. They were used to using the old PC as if they were a
single user, ie everything shared, even e-mail account. When they set
up the new PC they followed the user profile trail and set up first
Adam, who became Administrator by default, then Eve. Now Eve finds she
cannot access e-mails, nor photos Adam has loaded on the PC. How can
they get as close as possible to their old way of working, ie
everything shared? Do they have to do it folder by folder or is there
a shortcut eg set Eve up as Administrator also? Thanks for any
guidance .

Quick and simple would be just to use one account, say Adam. Besides that,
they'd have to store everything in the shared documents folder which
everyone has access to. What problems does Eve have accessing e-mail? Are
there actually two different e-mail accounts or do they still use the same
account?

At present they have only the one e-mail account, which is on Adam's
profile.
They have a daughter in Australia and when she sends photos of the
grandchildren Eve cannot access them from her profile. Maybe the
solution is to delete the existing two profiles and set up a single
"Adam & Eve" profile. What happens to files previously identified with
one or other of the old profiles? Are they automatically available to
the new "joint" profile ? Thanks for your suggestions.

If you delete the existing profile, the files within will be deleted. Your
best bet would be to rename the Adam account as I beleive this would do what
you are trying to do. As long as Eve doesn't have any files stored in her
'My Documents', it'll be safe to delete her profile. If you want to be on
the safe side, log in as Adam, browse to C:\Documents and Settings and copy
Eve to a backup location, say C:\Backup. Then if you later discover that
there were files that you wanted, you have them backed up.
