XP MESSED UP!!!!

My girlfriend has a comp i built her. it has been running
perfect until the other day. when she boots it up her
colors and resolution is messed up and her keyboard and
mouse are both locked up. she cant do anything. WHAT CAN
I DO?!?!?!?! PLEASE HELP!

Of course she has a firewall and an updated virus checker!?
Have you tried to start in Safe Mode?
