well what happend is one day i booted up my computer and it was full of
spyware and viruses and i like couldnt breath. so i cleaned it all up using
numerous programs. but what happened was my shut down button on the startmenu
disspeared, as did the run button, and my ability to use the control panel. i
can not also run a virus scan any more, it just wont run the scanner. so i
run spybot, and it finds i have a registry chang, and it fixes it, but not
everything, and everything happens again on startup.

so... i need some help, iether getting rid of it, or just identifying what
is the problem so that i can find out a way to fix it.

thank you

Hi,

Go to Start and click Run. Type in:
Msconfig
Go to Startup tab and uncheck all entries you dont' know what it is!
Or disable all for testing and reboot system.
Reboot.

So if you know the wrong entry, you can delete it. Go to Start and click
Run. Type in:
regedit
and search for that tree
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Run

Hi,

Sorry, so go to
C:\WINXP\pchealth\helpctr\binaries
C: is drive letter, WINXP or other name you have, where Windows is installed.
and open msconfig form there!

Go to Startup tab and uncheck all entries you dont' know what it is!
Or disable all for testing and reboot system.
Reboot.

So if you know the wrong entry, you can delete it. Go to Start and click
Run. Type in:
regedit
and search for that tree
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Run
