I have this problem on our church computer. I understand
how to use the microsoft article #255220 to solve the
problem. However, at the end of the article, they make
reference that I can use the "fixboot" command in the
Recovery Console once I have completed the steps in this
article. I am familar with MsDos commands but I have
never used the fixboot command. Can you step me through
how I can use this command to get windows xp to boot up
in lieu of reinstalling the xp operating system.

Ron, before you do this make sure there's no floppy in the floppy disk
drive. Check here for Recovery Console.
