Unable to detect TV monitor. The extended TV monitor was working fine until I
restarted the computer. Now I'm unable to connect to the TV monitor.
Secondary monitor is grayed out and when I click on it indicates inactive. I
don't recall doing anything that would cause this been using it will quite
some time. Tried connecting to a different TV same problem. Have ATI radeon
x300 se PCI-E graphic card. Windows XP media center operating system,
Hewlett-Packard HP media center PC m1070 n.

Thank you

A guess--
1. The Video card senses the TV connection with what is usually some sort of
load or resistance check. If the connection is not low enough in resistance
or impedence, the Video card thinks the TV is not connected.
2. The sense circuit can be damaged if there is a ground loop between the TV
and the computer.
3. Since this occurred on restart, there is a possibility that the video
driver was not initialized correctly.
This can be really messy to fix. A possible solution are to use restore to
go back to before the problem occurred, or even to disconnect the TV,
reboot, shutdown connect the TV and restart.
4. A update to either windows or the video drivers may have caused the
problem. TV out functions are often not checked properly when video drivers
are revised.
(Bitter experience)
5. A display resolution incompatable with TV out may be selected.

Do you have the Catalyst Control Centre from ATI's webstie (www.ati.com)? If
so, I beleive there is a 'Force TV Detection' option on the 'Display
Options' page. This should fix the problem.
