I've got a strange problem I hope someone might suggest what's going on.
Sometimes (not always), when I connect my USB flash drive, windows explorer
won't display it as a mounted drive, yet it really is mounted and assigned
as drive F:. I know this because it is listed as F: in the 'remove' tool in
the icon tray. I can even access drive F from Internet Explorer as well as
a command prompt; just not Windows explorer. I've tried refresh. I try
typing F:/ in the address bar. The problem clears up if I reboot, but I
shouldn't have to do that everytime I want to use the drive. Any debug
ideas would be appreciated.

Do you have a card reader? If so, check your disk management as this could
conflict with the drive letter you're using. Otherwise you could always try a
different USB port.

No, I don't have a card reader. And I get the same result whether I use the
front side or back side or power hub USB ports. F: drive is assigned to the
flash drive but won't display in Internet Explorer. For now, I just use
Internet Explorer window to access the drive.
