Does anyone know how to switch off the ReadOnly flag on
shared folders in XP? This is a known issue described in
KB article 328065, but there is not a satisfactory
description of how to fix it. (Am I surprised?)
Thanks.

If you're running HE or Pro with simple file sharing enabled, boot into
safe mode and log in with an admin account. If running Pro with simple file
sharing disabled, you can do the following in normal mode.
Launch explorer and navigate to "Documents and settings\All Users". Right
click the "Shared Documents" directory and select properties. Go to the
Sharing tab. Hit the permissions button. You should see the group "Everyone"
listed. If it's the only entry it will already be highlighted. If it's not
highlighted then click on it. In the bottom window are the permissions
options. Simply enable the "change" option. Full option is not required.
Apply/OK your way out.
