Deleting Files

This situation occurs in any file, but I will talk
specifically towards the desktop.

When you try to delete a file from the desktop, whether
you right click and delete, drag and drop to the recycle
bin, or use the delete files through the task menu, it
initially appears you have deleted the file, but seconds
later, the file reappears and a copy is also placed on
the desktop (or any file or folder you are deleting a
file from) with each successive delete attempt, another
copy is place in file or the desktop. What is causing the
problem?

I now have a screen full of copies!!!!!!!!!!!!
