messenger wont sign in

i down loaded the windos live messenger but it will not sign in it says to
check firewall or proxy settings i did this and it still will not sign in am
i dong something wrong please help

I have run into the same issue. I downloaded the "new and improved" Live
messenger and now I can not sign in at all. Then trouble shooter tells me it
might be "Default gateway...", whatever that is. It sure would be nice to
have something that worked.
