Tons of Perflib_Perfdata_(alphanumeric).dat files
on Windows/temp in my WindowsXP Professional
[where (alphanumeric)is usually a three-character
such as 7c0 or 4a2. Size is uniformly 16kb.]

When you seek to highlight and delete one of these the
warning is that you are about to light up one of North
Korea's nukes.... well, make your system unstable, okay?

Nothing to be found in Knowledge Base OR in the WinXP
Professional Resource Kit. Hmmm.

Would be a good thing all around if I could delete these
puppies -- or most of them, anyway.

Would be almost as good if somebody could tell me what
they are all about.

Aloha Bobby,

Thank you for the response but your visiting with an old
man here and I don't know how to add a command in a logon
script:

del /q %SystemRoot%\System32\Perflib_Perfdata*.dat

But I'm also a stubborn old man and I'll do some research
and figure out how to do it.

Mahalo plenty from Puna (No hurricane damage!)
