System configuration utility

At start up I have two error messages which I have
identified as Start up items under the Startup tap on the
Sytem Configuration Utility. I can disable the two items
at start up but only by a selective startup. How can I
delete the two items (they relate to and old scanner)from
the startup utility. Do I need to edit a particular
file??????????????

Ian, you can probably find them in the Registry. Go to Start>Run type
regedit
Navigate to Hkey_Local_Machine\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curr ent
Version\Run, Run, Runonce all the runs.
Check in the Right Pane for the entry and delete.
Same for HKey_Current_User\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre nt
Version\Run, Run, Runonce
