I have been having a problem recently where my computer
(Pentium 4, 256 MB RAM, XP Pro) has been locking up over an
amount of programs that it used to run fine together being
opened. Sometimes this causes individual windows to freeze,
while other times all of them including the desktop will. A
frighteningly small amount of memory space being used will
cause 'Insufficient Memory' errors to pop up. Are there any
suggustions anyone has for me on resolving this problem?
Possibly unrelated (as this has been happening since I
recieved the computer 8 months ago) is a problem where if
RAM resources go under ~40%, any music files being played
will cut out in a long, continuous noise that goes until I
turn the speakers off. This happens with CDs, programs, and
MP3 files. Is this normal, and does anyone know of a fix if
it isn't? E-mail responces are preferred if possible.
