One way to stop them is to download "Spywareblaster" (free)
from http://www.wilderssecurity.net/spywareblaster.html
One of the tools you can enable is a "flash killer". I
know it works because I had it enabled and forgot about
it. I spent about 4 days trying to install Macromedia
Flash to no avail (I needed it for a work related website)
until I remembered. It also has a list of sites, etc.
that it blocks from your computer if you "check" them.
Another tool is AdAware (free version) from
http://www.lavasoftusa.com/ . It detects and safely
removes tracking cookies, dataminers, dialers and other
objects from your computer. Make sure you use "webupdate"
before you scan to make sure you have the latest ref file.
