Somebody put me outta my misery please. Have a sony dcr trv245e. Have tried
to copy to pc and then burn to dvd, problem is that I get picture but no
sound. I have tried everything. Any suggestions greatly received. Thanks

How did you download the file?
Did you use IEEE 1394 (FireWire/i.LINK)

the file is from the tape which the video is recorded onto. I managed to
transfer the video to movie maker but it played with no sound. have tried s
video and composite devices to no avail.

Might be worth a try to use
IEEE 1394 (FireWire/i.LINK)
to download your file.

the TRV245 is a digital 8mm camcorder -
How and what did you use in your attempt to download to the PC ?
Also - is this a digital 8mm tape or an analog 8mm tape you are trying
to download ?
As others have mentioned - the best way is with the iLink / firewire /
1394 mini cable.
I have the Sony D8 TRV120 and it works fine.

S-Video dosen't carry audio signals.

Using Pinnacle 500 version 10, USB, and movie maker, great movie but cant get
the sound to go with the stupid movie, dont have firewire. Please, before I
shoot myself! Rick

Did you try connecting the audio signal to the Line In on your soundcard?
