more restore stuff

in my first efforts of getting rid of blaster.exe, I
reinstalled windowsXP. the "bug" is gone, but now when I
select system restore I receive:

rstrui.exe Entry Point not Found
-the procedure entry point
RemoteAssistancePrepareSystemRestore could not be located
in the dynamic link library WINSTA.dll

if I select system properties, system restore is not even
an option. I remember reading if you reinstalled or
upgraded operating system, that was possible. how do I
get it back? is there anything else I'm missing?

Try this, no guarantees:

Do a search for the sr.inf file which is normally located in C:\windows.
Make sure you search hidden files in your search criteria.
Right-click on the sr.inf file and select the install option.
