dll file

I ran the diagnostic check on the directx---on the second
tab, it came up that the file mf40.dll was incorrectly
installed in the windows folder and should be deleted. How
do I do that and how could it be there???????? I don't
know much about dll files!

Penny, are you sure that it's not mfc40.dll. You can find either one in
C:\Windows\System32. Just open the folder and
scroll down to the "m" dlls. Rt click on the file and delete. You can
find that same dll at
http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/dll-files.shtml?mfc40 Try replacing
it and see what happens.
