Typically video files show a thumbnail of the first frame of the video in
windows folders. I have had this work sometimes and sometimes it does not
work.
I am taking video from a mini DVD made with a sony handycam...useing the
picture package software that came with the camcorder. This create mpg
files...likely mpeg2 files...i think they are one in the same.
When I first did it on my computer the thumbnails showed up just fine. Now
all I get is the windows media player icon...and yes I am viewing my folder
contents as thumbnails...all other setings are likely as they should be...the
folder I am placing these extacted video files in is the My Video folder.
When I have wmv files in the folder they show up fine...when I convert these
mpg files to wmv files the thumbnail shows up...I just dont want to have to
convert all these videos I have.
Any thoughts or suggestions? Is Vista going to be able to work with these
mpg or mpeg2 files?
