I have had several people, one of which was at Seagate,
tell me NOT to use HIBERNATE as it will damage hard
drives, especially the local(C)drive. I just had a Seagate
drive crash on me, as I used HIBERNATE all the time.

Is this true and/or what are the "perimeters" for using
HIBERNATE, if any????

Hogwash. You can't 'damage' a disk by using hibernate. You should ask
(those that say this) HOW?
