My XP Pro with Service Pack 1 hangs constantly. It is
basically worthless since I upgraded from WIN 98 to XP. I
can find no hardware conflicts. Would converting my
system file from FAT 32 to NTFS help or not?

I am running and AMD Athlon processor at 698 MHZ and 384
MD of Ram. I have a 20 GIG hard drive and it is running
with 9.78 GB of free space.

Also I cannot keep my DSL connection. I lose it
especially when I try to download files.

This will hang without any error messages. The system
just freezes. Mouse, keyboard and everything is frozen.

Any help would be appreciated.

You upgraded from win98. I would do a wipe and clean install.
