Just got new PC and for some reason when I download a video file from a
website , all I get is sound no video.

If it's an AVI file, you need to install the correct codecs.

Download and install G-Spot Codec Identifier.... analyze the file(s) in
question and see what codecs they require.

It's usually DIVX www.divx.com and XVID www.xvidmovies.com

i find this codec pack lets me play just about every video file i've ever
come accross http://www.free-codecs.com/download/K_Lite_Codec_Pack.htm
