Cannot boot to Safe Mode - mup.sys

Hi

I am trying to bring my XP Home edition up into safe mode
to try to resolve some driver issues.

However the system hangs on the file mup.sys

Is there anyway I can bypass this file to get into safe
mode? or is there another solution.
