View Full Version : COPY DVD

WinXP PRO, 1024MB RAM, 2.8mHz, nVidia GeForce 6600 adapter, 160MB HDD,
LITE-ON DVD±R/RW DL Recorder, using Nero v6.6.1.4, I am unable to copy one
video DVD to a blank DVD. I've used different types of DVD blank media with
no luck.
I'm able to make nearly any other type of DVD I want, data, music, etc., but
can't copy from one to another. When I go into the DVD COPY mode, it does
not correctly recognize the media type, and it won't let me set the media
type (CD/DVD) which it's supposed to do automatically.
Any help is appreciated.

Are you aware that commercial DVDs have copy protection on them to prevent
them from being copied?
Are you aware that copying DVDs is a Federal Offense and could result in
significant jail time in a Federal Penitentiary and a huge fine?
Are you aware that stealing something that you did not pay for is just
morally wrong?

Time to review the law...
You can back up your cassette tapes, your audio CD's, and your Vinyl albums,
but the law states you cannot make a copy of a DVD movie even for your own
use.

So, by your logic, I can kill anyone I want to as long as no one else knows
about it?
A law is a law. You cannot justify breaking the law just because it is
convenient.
Lastly, the law is specific and detailed; the judge will send you to jail if
your are prosecuted and found guilty. It is a Class C felony; you lose your
right to hold certain jobs, etc...seems like a big risk to make a copy of
something you can buy for under $30.

Help me make women cry.
I am trying to create movies that make women cry. How can this one be
changed to make women cry?
I love the song part, "Fog Horn"
"We were born before the wind of Katrina." Smell the sea and feel the sky.
When that fog horn blows, I will be coming home to Louisiana.

how is killing someone the same as backing up a dvd ?
killing someone is morraly wrong
i back up my kids dvd's whish i have purchsed, put the original out of there
way and after a week or 2 when the copy has been stood on, covered in sticky
finger prints, drawn on etc, i make another copy rather than paying up to
£20 for another one.
so tell me is that as morraly wrong as murder ????
get a grip on reality
besides it's not a fedral offence for me to copy a dvd, i live in uk.

You completely missed the point, but since you have the mental capacity of a
goldfish, I guess you can be forgiven.
I was pointing out that your logic doesn't hold water...
If I can break the law and no one knows about it, then it is okay...
So by that logic, if you commit murder and no one knows you did it, then it
is okay...
Now try real hard to have a coherent thought....
By the way, I typed this very very slowly because I know you can't road very
fast.
