Video Capture performance

I was curious about what XP system processes / memory resident programs that
one could end for the sake of optimizing the capture of digital video? I
always make a habit of closing some of the system tray programs, mp3 player
services and other USB functions, but surely many other processes can be shut
down temporarily via the Task Manager.....

What would happen if XP was booted in safe mode? Is that too few processes?
Such a boot option for video capture would be nice.

You can shut down some services at times,but normal pc operations wont
work even with just 1 or 2 missing...If you want to see what services

Also,youre software depends alot on pc performance,one can simply install
mfg drivers only for the video capture card,then use WM encoder 9 series +
its utilitys for capure/conversions,etc......
