I have a client with a puzzling problem.
There seems to be multiple issues with this computer.
The primary complaint is that they can not log into any
high security sites like their bank.
I lowered the security settings to minimum but it made no
difference. When trying to run Windows update I get the
following message:
Your current security setting prohibit running ActiveX
control on this page. As a result the page may not display
correctly.
After clicking OKAY, I go to a page that states: Software
Update Incomplete.
I performed all of the steps in Article Q174360. It made
no difference.
I tried using System File Checker. That didn't seem to
work properly at all. It generally takes a few minutes to
run and it just blinked and was done.
I tried reinstalling SP1 and got the following message.
Setup could not verify the integrity of the file
Update.inf. Make sure the Cryptographic service is running
on the computer.
Crypto service is running.
Can you point me towards so solutions with the computer?
Thanks,
