View Full Version : Windows Update trouble

On my office machine (1GHz, 640MB RAM, WXP Home running
IE 6 SP1), I recently received an error message telling
me to reinstall my ISP/CompuServe software - which I did.

After reinstalling CompuServe, I have been unable to use
Windows Update. I then installed a newer (the latest)
version of CompuServe software.

After going to Windows Update, no updates are received
and I receive the following error message: "Windows
Update encountered an error and cannot display the
requested page."

The immediate error code is: Ox800A138F

I have tried the suggested 'fixes' for this general error
code.

My update.log shows the next two (2) error codes starting
with the most recent:

Ox801901F8
Ox80072EE2

These error codes were not immediately listed in the
Windows Update Support and I then could not access the MS
Support or Knowledge Base (coincidence that I could not
access these pages??).

I sincerely appreciate your help and assistance to remedy
this problem and restore use of Windows Update.

Those error messages suggest you were having connection problems and being
timed-out.
