The machine blue screens very often with three different
messages. The only one I have been able to record is:
STOP: 0x0000008e (0xC000001D, 0x805E40AD, 0xP2100B04,
0x00000000) It just started happening when I upgraded
from an Intel P4 400MHz Front side bus 2.4GHz processor
to an 800MHz Front side bus 2.4GHz processor. I also
upgraded the BIOS with one from Intel's site. I am out
of ideas and am open to any suggestions. Thanks in
advance.

Myself, I would try a different Nvidia driver if of course you have a
Nvidia card. Go to
www.guru3d.com
Compliments of http://aumha.org/win5/kbestop.htm
0x0000008E: KERNEL_MODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED
(Click to consult the online MSDN article.)
A kernel mode program generated an exception which the error handler didn't
catch. These are nearly always hardware compability issues (which sometimes
means a driver issue or a need for a BIOS upgrade).
a.. "STOP 0x0000008e" Error Message During Windows XP Setup {KB 315335}
Win XP
b.. Games: "Stop" Error Message That References Nv4_disp.dll {KB 325730}
Flight Simulator, other games (wth Nvidia-based video adapter)
