View Full Version : zone alarm plus network?

Hi,
OK, having (I think) successfully cleared the virus, I'm now
considering installing zone alarm, about which I've heard many good
things.
We have 1xp pc and one w98 pc networked together using ethernet cards.
Both machines are (now) virus protected with Sophos (up-to-date McAfee
let through the virus that did all the damage - hmph).
(a) are there any things I need to know about zone alarm + networked
computers - for example, will zone alarm lock out the other pc which
needs to use my printer and internet connection?
(b) has anyone any experience of sophos + za on xp? Any issues I
should be aware of?
TIA,
Debbie

Zone alarm has different "zones" which can be configured at different
security settings....in the trusted zone you would put the other
computer....

Zone Alarm Pro is an excellent program. I hate McAfee. Destroyed my
harddrive trying to uninstall it. I know a lot of people do not like Norton
Antivirus, but it is outstanding with Zone Alarm Pro. Save my ass more time
than once. Others like KAV antivirus freeware, but it was recently
purchased by Microsoft so who knows.
