View Full Version : Recovery Console

I have sometimes had the need to use the recovery console
in Windows XP. However, whenever I attempt to use it, it
prompts me for an administrator password. My system is
setup without any password requirements so what do I
enter at the prompt. I have tried just hitting enter but
it keeps asking for an admin password. Any Ideas ?

That password is the default admin password used when installing the OS, did
you install the OS cleanly or did a OEM? I have seen issues where the OEM
doesnt give you the admin password used during installation and it never
works.

The OS is a clean install of XP Home. I never setup
passwords on my system. What is the default admin
password and where can I access it ?
Many thanks for your response ...
