I have sony miniDv 46 camcorder, and I want to capture videos from the
camera to my PC. the camera has a 4 pins firwire port, I tried to buy a
firewire card, I found a card with 6 pins? Plz can any body tell what
is the difference? are there any difference in their speed? is this
will affect the quality of the videos?

All the firewire cards(and computer built in firewire ports) I've seen
do have 6 pins. You buy the cable that has a 6 pin connector at one end
and a 4 pin connector at the camera end. I don't know the tech details
of the 6 pin port vs the 4 pin port.

A six pin will carry power supply via the two additional pins.
Example: External Firewire Hard Drives are six pin, and will
draw their power supply from the PC's firewire.
With a DV camcorder, they all have only 4 pin firewire
connections, thus will have to have their own power supply.
There is no performance issues concerned.
You just purchase a six-to-four pin firewire cable.
And ensure your DV cam is connected to it's power supply
or it's battery is fully charged.
