Compaq SR1900NX + WD Hard drive + window xp home

[MSM]

I am trying to install a second hd drive into a compaq SR1900NX PC that is
running Win XP Home edition, the PC doesn't see the hd not does the bios.
Any suggestions, oh b the way, the hd came out of a old E-Machine running
with Window 2000

If the hd is not seen in the bios either, hd is defective,bios doesnt
support the hd size or bios not configured correctly, hd not jumpered
correctly, or cable faulty.
Win wont see the hd untill the bios does.
