Hi, don't know what I did or didn't do, but I'm running winxp sp2 on an HP
laptop

reboots only to the desktop, no icons, I did ctrl/alt/delete and create new
task, tried msconfig to do a system restore, there were no points to restore
to, I also looked in running processes and noticed there was no
explorer.exe, so I tried again to start a new process, explorer.exe, and the
screen just flashes off. I can only get into the task manager, Are there any
other commands I can start to get this going?

thanks much

desktop, even a blank one.

Boot to Windows, press Ctrl/Alt-Delete, start the task iexplore.exe, go
to this link and run the .vbs file.

Thanks for trying but that didn't work, I got a script error and it shut
down.
